Welcome to the shalala mailing-list
Hi everybody,
although I don't think I am absolute prepared for this thing yet,
I want to start it.
Right now we are a very small group:
Alexander Baily
Andreas Hering
Ara Hacopian
Catherine
Daniel Chan
Henrik Engstrom
Jim Curran
John Koliopanos
Keith D'Arcy
Leonard Roberge
Matt Neimark
Matthew Kaplan
Mick McMick
Peter Hahndorf
Stephen Burt
Stephen Wood
Torbjörn Thorsén
Yuanmin Liu
we invited about 40 more but I haven't heard from them yet.
first some administrative information:
- this is the first time I am maintaining a mailing-list, so I have
to learn some things on the way.
- as this is invitation only, there are no usual subscribe and
unsubscribe commands, all messages to majordomo go into devnull,
meaning they are deleted unread. If you want to unsubcribe send
a message to listadmin@--hidden--, there is not syntax for
that.
- to write to the list send your messages to shalala@--hidden--
maybe you see something like shalala@--hidden-- somewhere in
the headers, "lists" is just an alias name for the internal name of
the server which is "atticus". shalala@--hidden-- is the
official name. It is okay to reply to shalala@--hidden--
- although I have set up an URL (lists.twee.net) for the associated
web-site, there is not much there yet. I will set up an archive, so
other people can read the messages as well.
- there is no digest of this list yet, I need some time to play
with that function. I hope we wont generate too much traffic
and that everybody has an e-mail client which filters specific
messages in separate mail-folders anyway.
Please let me know if you really need a digest.
- only people on the list are allowed to post to the list, if
you are using another e-mail sender address than the one you
are subscribed with, your message wont make it to the list.
- although Tim outlined the topics for this list in the invitation
message, I think the proposed list-content needs more discussion.
I will forward a message from Alexander to kick this off.
please send questions to listadmin@--hidden--
more later
